Les Roches     

Location:

Les Roches is  located in the centre of  the village of St. Bonnet de Montauroux in the north of the department of the Lozerre, some thirty five minutes' drive south west  from the provincial capital of the Haute Loire,  Le Puy en Velay. This delightful region of the Auvergne is dominated by the lines of extinct volcanic peaks dotted with  crater lakes and  carved up by the deep gorges of the Allier and the Loire. A mainly rural area dominated by farming with only light industry in the small towns littered across the countryside.  Historically, due to the nature of the landscape,  the region has been inaccessible and only in the last twenty years have road communications been improved  which has allowed development of service industries including tourism.
