Getting there:

By Road: Tunnel or ferry from Dover to Calais.  St. Bonnet is less than ten hours' drive from Calais, taking the autoroute to Rouen crossing over by way of  Evreux and Chartres to Orleans then autoroute to just south of  Clermont Ferrand  for the turning east for Le Puy en Velay.  12 k short of Le Puy take left turn on the D906 heading to the N88 south to Mende. Take right  turning to village of  Cayres  continuing through to Bouchet St. Nicolas and St. Haon. Turn right before St. Haon down into the Allier gorge and the village of Chapeauroux. Follow the D88 into the department of the Lozerre and the first village is St. Bonnet de Montauroux.

By Air: Currently the region of the Auvergne is served by both Ryanair from Stansted to Rodez and Easyjet from Stansted to Lyon. Hire Cars are easy to book and reasonably priced for the onward journey to St. Bonnet de Montauroux.  Rodez two hours drive and Lyon a little over the two hours.

By Rail:  Eurostar to Paris from London or Ashford. Transfer to Gare de Lyon. Trains frequently to Clermont Ferrand where it is possible to pick up a car. Some trains run directly from Paris to Marseilles with a stop at Langogne just fifteen miles from St. Bonnet de Montauroux.
